Hi guys I've dated the same guy on and off for 5 years and now we're married but prior to that he was always hesitant on me meeting his mother and sister. I would ask him why he never brought it up of me meeting them and he'd say, I will one day. Till this day it bothers me because I believe if I weren't pregnant he would've never let his mother meet his now WIFE.

Family is hard and all families r different . He had his reasons maybe he was embarrassed of them and didn't want u to run for the hills after all he is the only one that matters not his family he is ur family.

If he flat out doesn't talk to his family then that's pretty normal. But even after 5 years and being married, having a strained relationship with his family is no excuse not to meet them. I honestly think it shows lack of integrity on his and his family's part not to want to meet you.

If he sees them often and excludes you there is a problem. I didn't meet my husband's mother for the first few years I knew him because they only saw each other at Christmas and only spoke by phone on birthdays. He wasn't hiding me, he just has a very complicated relationship with her and they weren't close at that time.

After being together for 5 years and being married, you still haven't met his parents? This is definitely strange. Were they not at the wedding? I would sit him down and tell him how important family is to you, and now that you are his wife, they are your family, and you really want to meet them. And if he still says "you will someday" say "when" let's plan a get together with them. I wouldn't let it slide any longer. It's been 5 years. He needs to give you a good reason why he's hiding them, or allow you guys to meet. Hope things get resolved!
