My sweet little boy came to this world at 38 weeks and 5 days, 9:36pm on Wednesday, Feb 24 weighing 7lbs 6oz and 19.5 inches long. Labored actively without meds from 3:31am until around 5:30pm when I was 7-8cm dilated and 90% effaced. The original plan was to labor naturally for as long as possible. I threw in the towel around noon, but because of an overcrowded L&D and 4 mixups with drawing blood (😑) the epi wasn’t delivered until after 5. Anyway, I digress.

I was progressing well until around 8pm when my contractions started to slow, so I was given a low dose of Pitocin to keep things active. We later had a slight scare when the baby’s heart rate dropped significantly from 150 to 89, but it quickly resolved due to the great work of the staff. Then, around 9:20 it was time to push. A brief 16 minutes later he was out, crying and perfect in every single way. I’m so over the moon, in complete shock, and feeling so blessed that this little sweetie picked us as his parents.
