After 24 hours of labor and an epidural our team green baby turned out to be team blue 💙. Finnegan Wade came out 9lbs 4 ozs and 21 1/2 inches long. He is so talkative and it's surprising how alert he is. Pitocin induction is no joke after being induced with my oldest and going all natural I thought I would be able to do the same this time around. The doctors kept turning on and off the pitocin due to having erratic contractions. I progressed very slowly. They started the Foley bulb and cytotek at 4:00am and I was still only 4 cm dilated around 7pm. The contractions were very painful and as much as I tried to breath through them it didn't work. At around 1230am-1am I asked for the epidural as contractions were becoming more painful but felt no progress was being made. After the epidural was in I finally got relief and took an hour long nap and when I woke I felt the need to push. Well 5 contractions later and our little guy was here. If I had to do it all over again I would definitely get the epidural again. I was able to actual witness my baby being born this time whereas with my oldest I was in so much pain my eyes stayed shut the entire time. Moral of the story it doesn't matter how we give birth we are all Rockstars for birthing our babies.
