First appointment at 8-10 weeks? Normal?

When I informed my doctors, they said there is nothing to do currently, they said midwife will be in touch at 6-8 weeks pregnant to arrange my booking appointment for 8-10 weeks. Is this normal? I thought I would have a proper appointment before then.

Normal. It’s better actually cause you can see the baby by then.

Pretty routine. Not much to be seen or done before then.
At 8 weeks, you are almost guaranteed to see a heartbeat if the pregnancy is viable and they’d do the blood tests and take your history and schedule your next appointment for 12 weeks.
Before the 8 weeks, you just need to take your prenatals (ideally, you should be taking them already before you get pregnant) and quit alcohol and smoking.
