Covid test?

My daughter came down with a runny nose yesterday. No fever. She is 4. Should I have her tested for Covid to be safe?

Not if that's the only symptom. There are still colds and whatnot around.

That’s up to you. I don’t because there are still colds going around. My daughter just got a cold, was super congested and cough but that was it. We weren’t around any known cases.

It depends where you live. In a rural town in the middle of nowhere with zero cases? I wouldn’t. In a populated area with current outbreaks, I would, for peace of mind

I wouldnt just yet. There are tons of illnesses that we are all susceptible to and getting a covid swab can be painful and traumatic, especially for a child.

I think the only concern is her spreading it. If you see other people or she goes to daycare or anything, then I’d say yes. Most of my family got it and only a few had a fever. The rest of us had cold/sinus symptoms. If you are isolated and not interacting with others than I wouldn’t.

A couple weeks ago my daughter got a runny nose. Then a cough, fever, vomiting and body aches. We were really concerned and then she started pulling on her ear. It turns out she had an ear infection and a cold. They gave her antibiotics and she’s back to being healthy! It’s totally up to you mama!

No, we were told (by children’s hospital) that a runny nose with no other symptoms doesn’t warrant testing and my son was still allowed to go to all his therapies.  
If there are other symptoms, cough, fever, etc then they recommended we qt or test

Will anyone in the family be around anyone else that is high risk? If yes, have her tested so you know to keep the family home.
