Birth control with least side effects

I am going to be on bc for only the second time in my life after I have my daughter. I’ve been thinking of trying the Nuva ring, but have read mixed reviews. Some say it’s great and some say it caused weight gain, acne, and also fell pregnant while using. I am completely against an iud. What are some good birth control options and experiences? My biggest concern is weight gain.
