Too early for “normal” swelling. I would flag this with your doctor. Could be a sign of preeclampsia. It’s also so important to stay active to keep the swelling at bay later on.

While it could be a sign of something worse, don't worry too much yet. I had horrible swelling with my second basically all the way through pregnancy with no issues beyond the swelling.

Preeclampsia is almost never present prior to 20 weeks. Most doctors and hospitals won’t even diagnose preeclampsia prior to 20 weeks because it’s nearly unheard of. So I wouldn’t be too worried about that quite yet. A moderate amount of swelling is normal at any stage of pregnancy, it’s severe swelling that’s an issue. Your body is retaining more fluids to keep you hydrated so swelling can happen, and with all the extra blood flow it’s pretty expected. My feet and hands started swelling around 13 weeks.
