Sleeping positions

First baby and he’s almost 6 months just learnt how to roll over and trying to crawl (he uses his head to try and move) I’ve stopped swaddling him because I’ve found him in his cot on his belly struggling to move.

My question is. Is it okay to let them sleep in the cot on their bellies ? Are they able to breath? Should I buy a 100% breathable mattress how are you guys putting your babies down to sleep safely?
