WHEN TO TRY AFTER MISCARRIAGE

It's been 5 weeks after my D&C procedure, just finished with my first periods, I'm not sure when to start trying again. Typically doctors recommend a gap of 3 months but I've watched many videos urging women to try as soon as they can in order to increase their chances. Please note that it took me 3 years to get pregnant (male infertility factor). I feel desperate! Please share your experiences.

My ob said that there's no medical reason to wait. He just recommended having 1 full cycle post d&c (eg 1 actual period, not the d&c bleeding) but that's more for accurate dating if you do get pregnant again. I'm so sorry for your loss.

My OB had us wait at least one cycle after our loss. She instructed me to continue taking prenatals during this time as well. We had positive tests that following month with our rainbow. 
I've never heard someone say to wait 3 months but every doctor is different.

You'll have to talk to your OB to see what they say. After a chemical mine told me to wait a cycle to try again. But 5 yrs later the same OB told me I didn't have to wait at all after a missed miscarriage at 9 weeks. As soon as we has our all clear scan she gave us the green light to start trying again. I didn't need a D&C because the baby stopped growing at 6 weeks. So I'm not sure how that will change things. Just call your OB and see what they suggest for your specific case.

I had a missed miscarriage in December and my dr said there was no reason to wait, medically, besides waiting for my period after I stopped bleeding, before trying again.

please wait, a lot of ppl don’t & end up with infections which is why doctors urge you to wait three months, it gives your body time to heal & your mind some time to process what happened & also see if there’s any changes to ur periods etc

I didnt have a d&c done but I had lost my first baby at 13 weeks 6 days and we got pregnant 2 weeks after.... was an accident and didnt know it was possible but of course beyond blessed! Fingers are crossed and loads of baby dust sent to you when you start trying again

I am sorry for your loss.
I waited until my bleeding stopped (1 week). I had a specialist give me the “ok.” I’m older and he felt it was best to get at it again as soon as possible. I was pregnant within two weeks. I recommend pregnancy planning counseling through your insurance. If I were younger, though, I would have waited at least a few months. I feel emotionally I was not ready. I am also tired of being pregnant. I have been pregnant since August and had a miscarriage in October and was pregnant again right away. I’m due August 9th. It feels like the longest pregnancy.
