Can’t stop gaining weight! Help!!

Karina

So back in April 2020 I tried to stop my birth control (the pill) and my body had a HORRIBLE reaction - I was throw into a major depression and I put on 25lbs in one month. I do struggle with diagnosed depression and anxiety, but for the most part I had it pretty under control until this point. I couldn’t function, so I got back on birth control. Shortly after I went to my doctor and I got on an antidepressant that was supposed to be an appetite suppressant and had no weight gain side effects. She was no help other than that. I did not lose those 25lbs, but I didn’t gain anything. I don’t want to be on BC, so I just stopped it two weeks ago. Already I have put on another 5lbs.

I work out 15-45min daily ranging from light yoga and stretching to HIIT - I just like to move my body every day. I also struggled with eating disorders in the past so I don’t limit what I eat but I do my best to eat everything in moderation and make healthy choices. I also only drink water or black coffee. Sometimes a Diet Coke, but that’s not a regular thing in my life. The weight is starting to impact my day to day life - I’m tired, I can’t be very active, etc - and I’m only 21! I just want to get this weight off and still be able to be off my BC. Anyone else experience this?? Any ideas for what I should do??

Also, I’m 5’4 and currently 195lbs. I was 190 two weeks ago and back in April 2020 I was between 165-170 and at my healthiest for a long time physically. This weight was where my body was “happiest” and I functioned well with no struggles. I just want to get back to the 165-170 range and feel healthy again!!
