In light of new revelations, should we abolish the monarchy?

#AbolishtheMonarchy was trending ok Twitter since the Oprah interview and I even saw a petition going around.  What do you think?
IMO just because something is tradition doesn’t mean it’s right or has a place in society.  I feel like the monarchy hasn’t been relevant for decades and no longer represents modern Britain.

Ive never cared for the royals and have been in favour of doing away with them before this interview aired, and even more so when the paedophile scandal surfaced. That did it for me. 
Eliminate Mehgan for a minute, why would you, as a tax payer, be happy that a portion of your hard earned money goes towards a paedophile and the family who protect him? 
I don't care how much tourism they bring in, I'm sure people will still visit the Big Ben, Houses of Parliament and Oxford Street and anywhere else as usual. I saw a comment saying Buckingham Palace could be turned into a museum and think that's a good idea. (I also saw a meme saying it should be turned into a big Tescos and like that even more! 😂)

Honestly, I think Megan is just looking for publicity. Not going to say the monarchy is perfect, but I don’t like or trust her word. I see no reason to get rid of a long standing tradition. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Ehhhh no I don’t think so. 
I also don’t think that the issues spoken about in the documentary are solely due to the existence of the Monarchy. I think that there would be no issue in modernising certain aspects of “being a royal” in order to find with today’s climate, to give royal members more support when needed, and to make things less manufactured outside the public presence. 
I also think a lot of the issues spoken about in the documentary, weren’t as a result from the monarchy itself, but just a failing from those around her. 
1) To begin with, Meghan should have absolutely had classes/training on how to be a member of the Royal family. She shouldn’t have been left to pick that up on her own. 
2) She should never have been left to deal with her poor mental state alone and with little to no help. 
3) If the Royal family can brush Prince Andrews rape allegations under the rug, they have no excuse for allowing Meghan to be constantly attacked by the British media. the racist and sexist headlines have been non-stop since their wedding was announced. 
like Meghan said, it would have cost them nothing to put the rumours to rest. but they allowed horrible tabloid newspapers like the Daily Mail, or scum bags like Piers Morgan to continue their hateful campaign against her. 
and I definitely do feel like their needs to be more support before Harry himself felt trapped. 
I haven’t been able to watch the entire interview yet. and it’s still another 40ish minutes until it airs in the U.K.  but ultimately I think that racism in the U.K. is a large part of why Meghan was so deeply targeted (and likely xenophobia for her being American). And that racism would not end just because the monarchy was dismantled.

Yes. they should. I’m a former British Person. The tourism argument is not really a point because Chester Zoo gets more tourists than Buckingham Palace does. If you go by the numbers of visitors no Royal Palaces make it into the top 20. I love history and I love learning about the kings and queens of the past but the monarchy does seem like a relic of old now. I respect the Queen, she generally seems like a nice person. I just wonder when the Queen does is there any point of continuing. Without the Queen the royal family is just a bit shit.

While there's reasons to get rid, like the fake wedding for example, since meghan and Harry was already married. 💷
The Queen or King plays an important told.
They have contact with the PM & cabinet and eveyweek the Queen even gives the PM a yes or no for certain actions.
Again.. There's some questionable things...
There's more to just waving, they're not suppose to have opinions and judgement. They're suppose to remain nutural in the eyes of the public. So getting a response on meghan's interview isn't likely.
There's a few concerning things what meghan has said, especially about Archie. But she agreed to her role, understood what she was taking on, left, and is now doing a big interview.
