Need to vent...

I am 17 weeks pregnant, will be 18 on Saturday. From Sept of last year to Feb this year (7 months) we were nice enough and blessed to watch my husband's niece. Several times at the beginning we stated to let us know of any problems or issues that may arrive. My husband is a stay at home parent and I work from home. We would have to buy baby food as her mom would often not include any. Pulled out all our baby toys and things (even before I stopped birth control) I had just gotten the shift I wanted at work. Things were looking great. Right as I found out I was switching, my niece's mom found out they were expecting baby number 2. Within two weeks of me switching, her mom doesn't show up to drop off for a couple days of their normal schedule. I messaged her and heard nothing. I messaged her again a couple days later and got a response of she isn't liking the way we were watching her little one. My husband tried calling and no response. Still not sure what happened or what/if we did something. My husband was the one to watch her. I was either working or sleeping.

Today the mom has messaged me if we will be attending her little ones first birthday. No communication for almost a month. I know if we go, it will be super weird. We still bought her little one a gift and I have a bag full of baby/toddler snacks/food and toys she left here. I figured on having a family member pick it up and take with them as we truly don't feel welcome. Are we over reacting?
