Was I wrong?

So I was dating this guy I met from POF, we had lots of fights and it got to the point where we weren't speaking often nor were we seeing eachother anymore. He began completely ignoring my texts and I told him if he wanted to break up he should've just said so. He said he wanted me to break it up. We talked and he said "I wish I would've know all this before wanting to break up. Let's give it another chance together." So I asked him out, he said he was busy for the next six weeks with work. So I understood work is work and decided to keep texting to talk everyday like we used to since he said "let's try again". He would answer my texts vaguely and days later. I later made a new POF account after having deleted the first one to see if he had made a new one. He had! And he had it for a while! A totally new one with a new username and everything. This surprised me since he said "I won't be making a new one, I'm too busy with work and don't have interest or energy for dating".I sent a text confronting him telling him he should've just said he didn't want to talk anymore and not beat around the bush, making excuses and lying. I told him he wasn't going to find anyone like me or as nice and good as me, that he shouldn't go saying I love you if he doesn't mean it, and not have me waiting for him to not be busy and not saying we should try again. He said responded "LOL we were already broken up. Keep making ad hominems because that gives me more of a reason for having broken up with you. Take care." Was I wrong on confronting him? I feel like shit and I feel like he's just sitting behind his phone laughing at me. Especially because I really thought he loved me and I fell in love and because of that I decided to have sex with him. I feel used.
