That's not how pregnancy works. You don't get pregnant 5 days before a period. Ovulation has to take place btw 10-14days before your next cycle, longer according to your cycle.

Unless you're tracking ovulation with opks and bbt charting you don't know when you ovulated and therefore don't know when your period is due. The fact that your period is 5 days "late " and you've had negative tests says that you likely ovulated later than you thought which means your period will be due later since your period is dictated by your ovulation day.
It also means that as you weren't tracking ovulation,  yes you could be pregnant

It’s likely if you’re usually regular that you aren’t pregnant. It’s not abnormal to have a period that’s late a day to 3 days. I’m very regular and at least 3 times a year my period is 1-3 days late. If you ovulated late, there is a possibility that you’re pregnant. Just give it a few more days, if it doesn’t show retest.
