After 9 months of literal silence from the in-laws the invited us to go do something with them this weekend. After we agreed to go they announced our 18 month old is not invited because “kids are the worst” that was literally said. My sister in law has 3 of her own children. My initial knee jerk is I’m sorry you feel that was about your kids and why did you have them?? We love going and doing things as a family and don’t mind taking our baby with us. He’s well behaved and almost never acts out. I feel like after so long they should want to see all of us? I’d like to see their kids. Am I weird? Do other people not enjoy doing things with their kids? When my family goes to do things the kids are always invited in fact we are usually doing things for the kids. I feel like if we saw each other more often it wouldn’t be so weird to say no kids but with their track record it will be another 9 months before they see our kid and by then he’ll be like 2 1/2
