Is it normal for a 10 year old to still pee on the bathroom floor by “accident”?

Oh no baby. My husband don't pee on the floor like other people are saying is normal. He always puts the seat back down too. My dad didnt pee on the floor either. My brother in laws or nephews dont either. That is not normal, that's people trying to normalize nasty or laziness. I would get him to help you clean it up a few times to show him and if he kept doing it, I would make him clean it up even if you have to supervise. There is no excuse for that. Just because they are men and boys doesnt give them an excuse to piss everywhere. That's why gas station mens bathrooms are nasty as hell because people let their loved ones slide on pissing on the floor. Uhuh. Not mine. I've never even had an issue with it with my husband nor seen it with my family members.

Maybe he has medical reasons for this that aren’t diagnosed yet? Maybe take him to a Er or doctor next fine and see what they say. I mean it’s possible if he’s holding it to long that he could just see the toilet and just pee I’ve seen that before in grown women but it shouldn’t be a normal thing. How is his hygiene? Does he take showers and change his clothes regularly? Maybe his mom didn’t care and he was just raised to not care? Who knows...talk to his mom and see or have your husband talk to her.

Is it possible he doesn’t recognize when he has to pee and is running to the bathroom last minute and not making it in time? 
Have you tried asking the child in a non-judgmental way like “hey, I noticed there’s some pee on the floor, that’s okay because accidents happen. Buy do you want a stool to help you make it into the toliet? Or do you want to try peeing while sitting? 
Or maybe express concern to the child’s parents... like is this something he does all the time or only at your house?

It’s ok and don’t make him feel embarrassed, instead, introduce him to “big boy chores” and make him feel like he’s contributing to the household, make him clean the bathroom, or if not, just pull him aside and say hey we all have an accident, but if you could just wipe it up after you’re done that would be very appreciated

Definitely make him clean it. He's 10 he's more than capable of cleaning up his mess.  And it been happening more than a year? You've been really patient. Kudos to you.
