Do your kids actually get it the car if you ask them? Asking for a friend lol

I am wondering if it’s an age thing, or if it’s just my sons personality?

I tell him about 5 minutes before we leave that we are going in the car for a drive and repeat myself a few times, just to make it clear. Then I carry him out and when he sees outside he wants to get down and play.

I have tried parking in our garage and the driveway and it doesn’t make a difference.

I give him sooo much time playing outside, he just loves it so much. I hate buckling him in when he is crying and fighting it, but sometimes we have places to be! I feel like it also prevents me from going unnecessary places because I just don’t want to deal with it.

Anyone else? Any tips?
