When does the third trimester actually start?

I’ve heard 27 weeks and 28 weeks lol. Why is there a discrepancy??

The easiest way the discrepancy got explained to me was that 40/3=13.3 so some people round up, some round down

26.666666666 weeks.  So most people round to 27.  But some people divide the trimesters by 42 weeks so then it’s 28 weeks.

Each trimester has exactly 13 weeks so second trimester starts at 14 and third starts at 28
