31 weeks and preterm ?

Question

So I was released from the ER this morning after realizing I was having contractions and am dialated to a 2! 
The gave me a shot in my arm to stop contractions and it did stop them, after a while they came back and as I slept through the night they stopped. I have  follow up with my doctor on Thursday and I'm feeling nervous because I'm not sure what to expect...can anyone help me on what I should expect ? Doctor called me this morning to tell me babies head is down now.. Thanks in advance !!

I was young when I got pregnant with my first, I was 17, so I was scared to death when my complications began. I started going into preterm labor with my daughter when I was 29 weeks. I went to the hospital, took two shots to stop the contractions. The following Monday I had to have an emergency appointment with my doctor. They checked the length of my cervix, was less than an inch! So they did the fetal fibro nectin test to check if I was prone to preterm labor, came back positive. Because of that test we knew it was not possible for me to carry full term. I was at risk for my water breaking at any moment. I had two steroid shots to develop her lungs and was immediately put on bed rest. I spent many days in the hospital because I kept going into preterm labor. I had to take the pill form of the shots everyday to try and keep my contractions away, and it wasn't working for me. At 33 weeks, I was admitted to the hospital for 8 days where I had to be put on magnesium to stop my labor and be closely monitored 24/7. Once I had cleared 34 weeks with a few days of no contractions, I was sent back home, still on strict bed rest. I ended up delivering my sweet girl at 35 weeks and she was a healthy 5 lbs 12oz and 20.5in long. No NICU stay was needed, and she was able to go home when I did. She's an energetic and brilliant little 5 year old diva now. Stay strong, momma. Everything will be okay. 💜

I went into preterm labor with my son at 32 weeks. They gave me magnesium to stop contractions, and 2 rounds of steroid shots to develop his lungs. I stayed in the hospital for a week on bed rest, was sent home and told to be on strict bed rest and pelvic rest. At 34 weeks 6 days, my water broke, and I delivered a healthy 5lb 7oz 17 1/4 inch little baby boy. Who also got to go home with me 2 days later. Absolutely no NICU stay. He turned 4 August 18th, and is doing amazing in preschool. He's the smartest little boy I know.

Puts me at ease a little, I'm hoping he stays in for at least a few more weeks! Also I've been getting pretty intense headaches through out the day but I'm going to mention it to my doctor Thursday.

With my daughter I was 3cm and had mild contractions for weeks before anything happen and even then I was induced. With my son I went into labor at 32 weeks. I was put in the hospital and put on bed rest. He made it to 35 weeks and was taken to the NICU for a few days. He is now 5 years old and loving pre-school. Just always remember its not your fault don't blame yourself or you will drive yourself crazy.

Thats how my sister was but there was nothing wrong she stayed dilated for weeks and was a week over due . Im sure everything is fine

Maybe bed rest? 
Something similar happened with my three year old at 33 weeks and I ended up having to be induced with her. Good luck
