Me and my bf have been together for 6 years now ... I've been feeling a little weird seeing all the pictures of girls having promise rings , engaged and what not . We've been together for so long now and I haven't even gotten a promise ring at all .  Should I be concerned ... I'm feeling kind of angry.

Don't let other ppl life effect yours.  Were you content before seeing all these things.  Or did it wake up something that you already knew was inside of you.  I think it's time for that where are we going from here .what are we doing talk with him.

This is just my personal opinion:) But I think that you and your significant other both want marriage, theb you should know if you want to marry each other after 6 years.  You either want to or you don't - so it's time to make a decision to fully commit or break up. I think it's completely unfair for you to be waiting around with their lack of commitment.

Do you feel like there should be more of a commitment in your relationship, or do you just feel like you'd like a token of your commitment to each other, something that is visible to others? Unless it seems like he isn't as committed to you as you feel he should be at 6 years, I wouldn't be worried. I would just talk to him about how you're feeling.

My SO and I were together for 10 years once we got married. No promise rings or anything like that. We didn't need it. We knew where we stood. Don't worry about what other people are doing :)

Once I was feeling exactly like you. 9 years ago. I was with my than bf for 7 years...and nothing...he had no plans for future life together. So I left him. Met my now husband after 1 week, got engaged exactly after 1 year we met, and than got married after 8 months. Now I'm happy planning our lives together. Never regretted even for a second that I left my ex bf.

Maybe y'all just aren't on the same page. Have you had that talk? He may not even know you're really desiring more right now, or may not realize what it means to you. If he doesn't know, he can't really fix it.  And if you have, maybe he just needs a gentle reminder.

How old are you? I feel like age plays factor in these situations. If you are a teenager I would say its probably not a big deal, but if you're in your 30s and together 6 years then I would start to wonder why no more commitment has been made after that ength of time...
