Nursing for comfort?

I’m a first time mom with a 6 week old and I have trouble latching her sometimes. Nursing can sometimes be difficult because my daughter seems to want to nurse for comfort a lot. But when she’s on me for comfort, it starts to hurt after a while because she only gets the nipple part. I try repositioning to get more in her mouth but she fusses and backs her mouth out again. Does anyone else allow their baby to do this? I feel bad because I want her to feel safe and I know my breast make her feel safe but I also get very sore nipples and it becomes an uncomfortable experience for me. I love her so much and I’m willing to sacrifice if it’s actually the right thing to do for her. I’ve also tried itzy ritzy, mam glow in the dark, and a Nuk pacifier but she only finds comfort on my breast.
