False positive covid test?

I took an antigen test and it was positive but I have no major symptoms of covid. My friend who is a doctor told me to retake with a PCR bc you can easily get a false result from antigen tests especially if you have a cold. Has this happen to you?

No but I do know that not everyone gets symptoms I only had a slight headache nothing severe my family also tested positive and none had symptoms.

My dad got 2 rapid tests from different places and came back positive so he took a PCR the same day and it came out negative

The presence or lack of symptoms has nothing to do with having the virus. You can absolutely have the virus and not exhibit symptoms. It’s called being asymptomatic. We’ve been in the middle of a pandemic for over a year now, this should be common knowledge.

If by antigen test you mean rapid test they’re I my 50% accurate. Always get the PCR tests that are send off takes about 24-48 hrs

My friend had covid and had no symptoms at all... if she would’ve never tested she would’ve never known. She only tested because she was around someone who tested positive which prompted her to get tested.
