Baby Names
Trigger Warning: very judgemental/racial family members spoken about.
My husband and I are pregnant with our first child, 4w4d, and we already had Peyton Elizabeth chosen for a little girl. For a little boy we have chosen Jaxen Michael. We both wanted something unique and that made the most sense. Both middle names came from one or the other sides of the family. My grandmother asked what names we were considering, and when I told her Jaxen's name, her exact words were "that's a black name, no child in my family is going to be named a black name. You forget I know people in the L&D dept that will change the birth certificate if I tell them to". Once that was said I changed my mind on the hospital and doctor that will be with us all the way.
I guess what I'm wondering is what are all y'alls opinions to this? This is the first great grandbaby on my side of the family, and I want the baby to have a semi perfect, if not definitely better than the life my husband and I had growing up.
