Why Im not easting $ on a Crib..

With my 1st born  i was soooo worried about purchasing a crib , building a nursery etc. 
Its sooo unnecessary!  Like really ,Mostly when you plan on breastfeeding . Your baby wont leave your side . Many mommas would tell me not to purchase  a crib , this second time  what I bought a second hand bassinest “the Halo “and  will resell  it   When im done with it. Cribs are just to big and babies cry  in it  all the time😤   Not worth it at least not with many mommas .follow the tips 2nd time mommas give you

We are exact opposite. We found the bassinet to be the most wasted thing. As second time parents we got a full sized crib for the nursery and a mini crib for our bedroom. We dont want to have to crib train again 🙄

Complete opposite here. This is my third baby and she will go straight into her crib from day one in her own nursery. And I plan to breastfeed. Having baby in a bassinet just means a transition to the crib and nursery later which wasn’t fun with our first. Also, baby just keeps us up all night in our room with all the grunting, etc and my husband’s alarm wakes the baby up so literally no one sleeps. We plan to use my toddler’s crib for this baby.

Same boat. My crib is still in storage. I bought a bassinet thats next to my bed and changing table. I will worry about transitioning baby to crib around 3-4 months and crib will still be in my room. And then hopefully by a year we will be in a bigger house and baby in it’s own room. 
To add this is my 4th setting up a nursery is fun but definitely not necessary. I wanna wake up feed and not have to walk into another room being sleep deprived 🤣

I love having a bassinet by my bed. I used it for my first and second and transitioned them to their cribs at 5 months. It wasn’t hard to transition, as long as you put them back in their bassinet at night after you’re done breast feeding, then they will still get use to sleeping alone and transition fine to the crib

What will you do from age like 6 months - 2 or whenever you plan to put LO in a big bed? 
We love our halo! But I still needed a crib for a few years after that. Just curious!

My first was in a pack and play for 2ish weeks then straight up crib. Same with this 2nd. I don’t like them in my room. I don’t sleep well.

For our first we wasted money on a halo bassinet that did nothing for us. She never slept a single night or nap in it. And we tried hard! We bed shaded for the first 12 weeks and then moved into the crib. I can definitely say we got our money’s worth out of a crib. Bassinets have a low weight limit so eventually you’ll need another place for baby to sleep. Definitely don’t need one ASAP though. As long as you have somewhere for baby to sleep. Each family is different.

We used a pack n play next to our bed because we can use it for much longer than a bassinet. But I’m still glad we had the crib set up for naps. Plus we transitioned my son to his own room around 3 to 4 months.

I’m doing bassinet by my bed and transitioning to crib in his own room again. I did this with my first baby, and it worked really well for us! Just another thing that depends on the baby and the family. It can be different for everyone :)
