Elective c-section

I just went to my first midwife appointment and she is going to refer me to an obstetrician because I had an emergency c-section with my daughter, I told my mil and she told me not to go the easy route and get an elective because it's so much more rewarding doing it naturally and she knows coz she did it 3 times but has never had a c-section. I have had a c-section and it's definitely not easier I know that for sure I just can't believe the ignorance and I feel like if I go for the section she will always say I took the easy way out which makes me so angry :(
