Waiting for real labor? 39w 5d

So I am 39 weeks, yesterday I had contractions for a few hours and finally they became like 5-7 mins apart but not unbearable. I went to labor and delivery around 11:45 pm where they did confirm I was having contractions and I was 2 cm dilated and 25% effaced. They had me stay for 2 hours and checked me again and there was no change so they sent me home, I slept for a few hours with the same feeling contractions but now they have stopped. I have a lot of pelvic pressure and some light cramps but nothing else yet.

I hate waiting and I have an almost 4 year old at home so the waiting game sucks! Anyone have any advice or how long this could take??
