Does your bf or someone u talk to still talk about their ex’s

This guy I am talking to still talks about his ex’s. I get it. It’s your past and everything but I let him know already that it just irritates me because I don’t really care to hear about it. I don’t speak about my ex’s at all to him. I don’t think it’s needed to speak about them unless it’s in regards to something like “oh yeah my ex abused me in the past. So this is why I act like this in this situation”. I don’t think it’s needed to be like “I used to watch these shows with my ex! Forgot how much I like them” or “just drove past two of my ex’s houses”

Why should their houses matter? And the tv show is fine, but is it needed to comment that! I just truly don’t see a reason to mention them really. Maybe I’m being hormonal. Maybe I just don’t understand. What do you think? Can you help me understand?
