Bridesmaid week after giving birth?

Question

Anyone have a similar experience with being a bridesmaid in a wedding and due date is within a week of wedding? Looking for some kind of tips of having trying to work this out some how.  Due date is 10.4 and wedding is 10.9. If i have a c section (which i might) would be a week before 10.4.  This is my best friend so I am determined to make it work

No. I’m so sorry, I know this is your BFF, but no. Regardless of c section or natural, you need to recover, ESPECIALLY if you have a c section. A c section is absolutely major surgery. Evacuating a whole human out of your body is a lot....being in a wedding is a whole thing. Maybe (a big maybe) you could attend as a guest (I wouldn’t), but definitely not in the wedding party.

Kinda depends on how your body heals and what happens. Many people go over due with babies and if you have a c section you may not be up and around by then. You might be but you might not be. My sister had 2 c sections. 1st one went about as perfectly as one could go and it still was 2 weeks before she was given the all clear to stand for more than 10-15 min at a time and had a fair amount of restrictions. The 2nd was a bit worse as she had some extra bleeding that required a blood transfusion. There is no possible way she would have been able to be at a wedding let alone in it the first 4 weeks post labor. I had the easiest and smoothest natural delivery ever and probably could have done a wedding a week after labor but no way in hell I would have wanted to. You are still bleeding and potentially wearing a huge ass diaper pad. Your boobs are swollen and leaking and maybe aching and you won't want to wear a bra. You could have healing stitches. Your stomach/legs/ankles/face could still be super swollen. You have no idea what size you will be so shopping is near impossible before baby. If you are nursing your milk may have literally just come in and newborns need to nurse like every 90 min-2ish hours and that soon after pumping won't have been an option so either nursing baby at ceremony or bottle feeding with formula, etc. You may be able to do it but if you have an important role in the wedding I would be honest and realistic to the bride so you don't leave her high and dry. A lot of this depends on stuff 100% out of your control so you can't really tell her you will for sure without question be there. In the end you healing and baby being good are more important than a wedding...no matter who it is getting married. Breaking open c section stitches at her wedding won't add anything good to her day.

Many women go overdue with their first birth especially, and I couldn't even stand up for more than a few minutes at a time until 2 weeks post c section. I think you need to bow out.

I was supposed to be a bridesmaid for my friend’s wedding a week after my due date & my doctor actually told me that I couldn’t. Obviously my doctor would have no way of stopping me, but she was so adamant about it that it scared me into bowing out. I figure that they see women postpartum every day, so she’d know best. I still plan on going to the wedding, but I’m not getting hair/makeup done or participating in the ceremony. I got a cheaper dress in the bridesmaids colors in case I deliver way early and feel up to taking pictures.

Nope. I was suppose to attend a wedding on my due date but had a csection a week early. I couldnt even take care of myself that well let alone go to a wedding. My husbands friend is getting married this pregnancy a week within my due date and its a huge no for me

All of what everybody has said and to add that on top of how you will be feeling, you will also have a baby. That baby will want to be with you constantly and will need an incredibly variable amount of care. You going so immediately postpartum to a wedding with a baby will become the focus of the day and that’s not fair to your friend.

Nope. I almost bowed out of being a bridesmaid for a wedding 4 months post partum! I can’t even think about wanting to wear anything but a bathrobe a week after I give birth, let alone a dress and formal shoes and have the pressure to look good in pictures and support the bride. 
I was having trouble figuring out how a dress will fit my post baby body so I paid extra for the largest size. Which is awful that that’s a thing! But seriously, I’d reconsider. Your friend should understand
