Was this rude?

Question

The girl who works at the starbucks inside the store I work at told me “you’re so big already” after I finished ordering my food and drink. Was this rude or am I being sensitive? Keep in mind I don’t talk to her as much like rarely ever because when I started working here she started so much drama saying I was rolling my eyes at her when in reality I had no idea who she was and couldn’t even see her because I wasn’t wearing my glasses. Idk if it’s the hormones or if it was actually rude..

Even though it’s “rude” because it’s unnecessary, people don’t think it’s rude and think they’re giving a compliment of some kind. If it bothers you, it’s okay to speak up and say so (respectfully).

I think we all get comments like this, you’re big/small things. I find them annoying sometimes, on occasion I consider them rude depending on the delivery.
With my first pregnancy, My dentist was away and I had a stand in, he didn’t even introduce himself just went WHOA you’re HUGE - you sure it’s not twins, not going to pop in my chair are you and continued on the entire appointment. That I considered rude... same as a lady at the hospital with this pregnancy I’m due July 5 for reference. I told her I was there for an ultrasound, her reply “was women as big as you are don’t need directions where to go” which I wasn’t impressed by.
For the most part people don’t mean any harm when they comment on our size. It’s something society has made so normal to want to touch us or make a comment. 99% of the time I just brush it off. The occasional comment sticks though and I tend to let them know politely it may be something they don’t want to say to people.

It’s rude. I don’t see why anyone would ever comment on anyone’s body besides saying how beautiful they look, pregnant or not. It’s weird and it’s not a compliment to be told how big we are.. we know we’re getting big.. no need for the reminder.

I never took that as rude no matter who it came from. I actually say I know or thank you.
Never even thought of it being offensive because of the clearly big ass belly.’

Meh....I got it all the time. My mom, deli lady, random people.  But so do a lot of pregnant women. I think people just forget how big pregnant bellies actually get,  so when they hear that you still have a ways to go they get surprised and say dumb stuff. But they're talking about your belly, not you being fat. So can they be a little more tactful, yes, but is it terrible, no.

I took things the wrong way when people told me I was small and a lot more other people told me that was a compliment. I didn’t mind people telling me I was big. i got a few but sometimes we get sensitive. in your case sounds like she was being a little rude to say “already”

i dont think she meant it in a rude way. pretty much the same as "wow your not even big for (x) weeks!" which i get a lot.
