Shitty father?? & potty training

I divorced my ex husband 2 years ago we aren’t co-parenting well. He takes our kids every weekends our son is 4 years old and Is having a hard time potty training I decided to dedicate 1 whole week of it I took time off work etc well I got my kids back yesterday & guess what? My son had a diaper on I immediately took it off him & he peed all over my bed & himself I was so upset & called my ex he said that I should NOT be forcing him & that he’s too little to learn

I’m told my son needs to be potty trained by 3 for daycare. Has your pediatrician given any tips? I’m sorry your ex is not helpful

My 1st son potty trained at 18 months and was without nighttime pull-ups by 24months. 2nd son I swore I would be changing his diaper at his high school graduation but he was fully potty trained by 3.5 and out of pull-ups at night by 4. Wearing a diaper at 4 is extremely late to not be potty trained...

Why does he say you shouldn’t be forcing it? Was he taking well to potty training when you were teaching him? You shouldn’t be forcing - but at 4 I would think he’s more than old enough to not be in diapers. It sounds like your ex is being lazy and just doesn’t want to do the work. He’s doing your son a big disadvantage, how’s he going to start kindergarten if he’s still needing his diapers changed? Or does your ex think he shouldn’t be forced to attend school either? 🤔 
Idk how to approach this but if you guys have a legal agreement, I’d try talking to your lawyer and maybe getting some advice. If he doesn’t want to do the standard work that it takes to parent his children ... he probably shouldn’t be.

4 is way too old for him to be saying that. He’s still having issues because he’s extremely confused. How does he expect him to learn if he won’t hold up the same potty training? Sounds like a very lazy father. He should be approaching kindergarten soon at that age and that could be a problem.

I do agree with your ex that when kids are ready they are ready and they shouldn’t be pushed if they aren’t ready. 
However, the two of you have to be on the same page for your son will never be ready and he’ll just be confused.

I hate that you’re dealing with this! i mean at 4 your son is definitely old enough to be potty trained! Him just putting a diaper on is out of sheer laziness! Like how is your son supposed to learn to use a toilet if dad just keeps him in a diaper! 
I don’t know what you can really do but I hope you find a solution! You’re definitely not overreacting to this and he is definitely in the wrong
