COVID vaccine & pregnancy

JY

I’m 34 weeks and asked my doctor if I could get my COVID vaccine and he strongly recommended I did but to go towards either Pfizer or Moderna. I called today to the city’s Health department and they didn’t want to give me an appointment because “they don’t recommend it” & I even told them my doctor gave me the green light and they still refused😩 I’m in El Paso Texas, has anyone had a similar issue in their city?

Try just scheduling an appointment from the website of a pharmacy like Walgreens, CVS, etc. As long as the government isn’t actually restricting it, there are multiple places to get the vaccine, though the websites can be busy. Good luck!

See if you can schedule something in Las Cruces. Bring something with you from your doctor.

Unfortunately since the vaccine is being so heavily politicized, some areas are having issues like this. Do you have to call the Health department? I just went on Walmart’s website and scheduled from there. Also I’m 18 weeks pregnant and got my first moderna vaccine on Saturday and all is well! Just a sore arm and a little tired. Good luck!
