Detox???

Question

I found out yesterday Im pregnant for the first time and I'm a pretty heavy daily smoker. I'm going to cut it out completely but need to ween of 1st! Has anyone had any type of detox symptoms or anything while pregnant? I just want to do this the safest way possible!

No need to detox, really. Just ease off at your own pace. I was a heavy daily user before I got pregnant, currently 14 weeks and still using for depression/anxiety and morning sickness with the approval of my midwife. Most people can quit cold turkey without any physical issues, but if you’d rather ease off of it, that’s fine too. Take it at whatever pace works best for you.
A decades long review has concluded that cannabis use in pregnancy doesn’t cause physical or cognitive deficiencies in children, and that many of the perceived risks such as premature birth and low birth rate could be accounted for the use of other substances like cigarettes, and that cannabis alone has not shown any direct links. So personally, I’m not worried. I don’t use it as much as I did before, but it helps a TON with the nausea and appetite issue, so until my morning sickness finally eases up, I won’t be stopping. My personal goal is to be off of it by the third trimester though.

I smoke daily prob more than 5 times a day and stopped completely when I found out I was pregnant. If you’re talking about weed there’s no “withdrawal symptoms” you’ll be fine.

I completely cut myself off when I found out I was pregnant. I smoked 3-5 times a day and had no cutoff symptoms when I stopped use.

I attempted to quit cold turkey when I found out I was pregnant. I managed to make it for a while until the morning sickness began. I was puking 14+ times a day. The only thing that would help is to have a few hits from a joint. 
Eventually, the smell of weed started to make me sick so I quit all together. 
The ONLY type of negative effect I got from quitting was the return of my insomnia. I’d be up crying most nights because I couldn’t sleep at all. That never really went away though, because it’s the entire reason I started smoking. So, I basically was just returning to the normal me. 
Some docs are okay if you smoke during pregnancy but they recommend edibles instead of inhaling as smoking leads to lack of oxygen to the baby.

No, other than slight cravings, I had no other withdrawal symptoms. I went cold turkey with weed and cigarettes when I got pregnant. I wanted a cigarette much much more than I cared about the weed. Weed was easy for me. The cigarettes were intensely difficult. But here I am eight years later, still cigarette free! I did start weed again about a year after my daughter was born. Anyway, I would highly recommend going cold turkey. You don’t have to wean off.￼

Taper off,  that’s how I did … my anxiety meds , flower, dabbing and my newports! I did all..it was tough for me tho… but you can do it ! 🥰

Some get nauseas and lose their appetite but the cravings are the worst. Just make it through the two week hump and you won’t really wanna sMoke after.
