Should I tell my babies father that he's been offered a place at the first choice of school I picked? ( he's not involved in his life so I feel like the answer is maybe an obvious one)

I've been informed that my first choice in school selection has offered my son a place to learn in there school and I couldn't be happier with the news!

My ex partner never pays child support and has never cared about our son to ask how he's doing, ever and when I questioned why that is he said "well if something bad happened like he died or was hurt you would tell me, otherwise I know he's fine". I've removed him from everything not seeing the point of him being in our sons life at all to stop confusing and conflict between the two when my son grows up more as he's 4 now and I did not want my son to think that my ex is what to be expected from a father role because hes not, he's the opposite. I'm keeping drama at bay.

I've told my exes mother who is involved somewhat in my sons life, despite living over seas but I was wondering if it was worth telling my ex in passing or sticking to what I'm doing by just not speaking to him at all. I didnt know...

Does my ex deserve to know this or not ?

He's not shown he's deserving to even have a son at all, he doesn't deserve any of life's blessings.
