IVF Wait Times in Ontario Canada?

Hi all — this might be a long shot since this is a big group but anyone know how long the wait time is for a PRIVATELY funded IVF cycle specifically in Ontario, Canada? I see a lot of posts about wait times for public funding but not private. Maybe a silly question — is it right away? Does it depend?

No wait at all for private unless you’re somewhere very small maybe - you play as soon as you pay :) I got on the funded list last summer and they told me it would be about a 12-14 month wait, but that was before all the lockdowns. I’ve done 2 FETs on private (one resulted in a MMC, the other I transferred on Thursday) since that time.

Just outside of Toronto here. I was referred to a fertility clinic in Feb 2020, and received a call back within a few weeks. The clinic does an investigative cycle, and then gives recommendations on treatment. We tried several other options, and after about a year of other attempts are now onto IVF. We put our name on the funded list in Feb 2021, and was told it’s 1.5-2 year wait time. As we wanted to continue, we had to pay out of pocket, and we started our IVF cycle in March 2021.

Hi, Toronto here too. 🙋🏼‍♀️ 
Funded is anywhere from 12-30 months at some clinics. 
Paid cycles are as soon as you’d like. 
For my first kid cycle I got my period at the beginning of July, paid, and started STIMS a few days later. 
I think as soon as you tell your clinic you’d like to start and pay you can. I do know some clinics put you on birth control beforehand I they have too many patients wanting to start. It just helps span out the time between so they’re not overbooked.

We did private. Told them we wanted to go ahead. We had the teaching session I believe April and got started in July. This was also pre Covid... when we had our transfer, it was right away when I was ready (had ohss so had to do frozen- body was healed in September, transferred in October). We’re going back for another this year and I was told it was approximately a 3 month wait.
