Heartburn remedies besides tums? ?

I just recently started getting really bad heartburn kept me up all night does anyone have any ideas of things to help with heartburn besides tums?

A spoon full of baking soda! It absorbs the extra acid and stops it instantly. Really nasty though

I would say make sure to not eat acidic foods a few hours before bedtime. So no marinara sauces, fruit,anything citrusy or spicy that might aggravate it. Then also make sure you eat dinner with enough time to at least semi digest before going to bed. If you're hungry right before bed try a soothing snack like a glass of almond milk and a slice of wheat bread or an oat bar. Something easy on the tummy:) then prop yourself up a little in bed to give the snack some room to digest while you're sleeping so it doesn't come back up again as stomach acid or heartburn. Hope this helps! Also, I use these plant enzymes throughout the day, instead of tums because some tums have coloring.

I know it sounds gross but a spoonful of mustard helps! I had the worst heartburn and had tried everything! Looked up online some natural remedies for heartburn and mustard came up. I refused to try it for about a week because it sounded like I would get even worse heartburn. But after a whole two nights of basically vomiting in my sleep I tried it and it worked! Haven't had bad heartburn since then! Good luck

Milk or sipping on hot water can help

My dr says calcium is a remedy for heart burn amd acid reflux. 
She said skim milk preferably. Raw almonds are great source of calcium and they help even out your PH balance.

First thing in the morning drink an 8oz glass of warm lemon water 15 min before eating. Drinking it warm and on an empty stomach can help naturally  even out your acid levels and it is a digestive aide. (I already do this but I didn't know it helped acid reflux I started doing it when I was loosing weight and now it's an addiction. Lol)

A teaspoon of apple cider vinegar everyday can reduce stomach acid.

Chewing gum but not minty gum. After meals ...  Chewing gums keeps the saliva producing and that saliva is am acid buffer.

Try not to eat atleast an hour before bed or laying down to give your food adequate time to process. Always set up for at least an hour after eating. 
Chew your food really good the better it is chewed the faster it can digest which decreases chances of acid refulx.

Wear loose pants or skirts if they are tight they put pressure on your abdomen and that can cause acid from the stomach to rise.

Note it is very nasty but very effective ... If you are having a heartburn or acid reflux moment you can mix half a teaspoon of baking soda in half a cup of water mix it until the powder is desolved and drink it. It reacts with the acid in your stomach and stops (note you are required to consult your dr because it contains sodium and if you swell or retain water it will make it worse)

She said red apples are a good snack if you have been having alot of acid refulx ...
