Menstrual cups

Question

I have been wanting to try out a menstrual cup recently but want to know more about it from those who have used it before. Any pros and cons of usage? Or anything that you think a newbie might not think about 🤷🏽‍♀️

I have been using menstrual cups for going on 2 years now, and I'll never look back
+ it's better for the environment
+ longer wear time (12hrs) w/o risk of TSS
+ over time it has made a HUGE difference in my cramps and my overall cycle has shortened by average of 2 days
- when using public restrooms, things can get tricky. Most of time I can't rinse it and just have to wipe it out
- it's definitely a learning curve and takes some time getting used to
Additional tips: wear a liner to catch any leaks, especially when still learning. Rinse first with cold water, as hot water will set in stains. Hydrogen peroxide soak will remove stains. Sanitize before and after each cycle by boiling. You don't need any fancy steamer or cleanser. I wash my cup with unscented antibacterial hand soap once in a.m. and p.m. YouTube has a lot of videos that will show you different folding and insertion methods. You don't need to spend a ton of money on brand named cups. And I highly recommend getting different shapes and sizes

I started using a cup 6 months ago, and I WILL NEVER GO BACK! Not only am I freed from wearing a diaper( I say that because after using the cup there was no going back for me) but I only have to change twice a day. I'm a heavy bleeder too. And on my heaviest day, I change every 11 hrs. The best tips I can give u are 1) get a water based lube to put it in, you don't want it rubbing you on its way in. 2) insert it like a tampon. I learned that the hard way. And 3) wear a panty liner until you're comfortable with the cup in place. And 4)be patient with yourself. You can't expect to get it within the first month or so. The pros absolutely out weighed the cons for me. But not every cup is created equally. I tried 3 cups before I found my perfect match. Happy hunting and  good luck!!

Pros, no smell, no cramps, shorter period,  no money wasting, no leaking,  can have sex with it on. Less changing depending on your flow. No changing out in public unless you're extremely heavy bleeding or out for over 12hrs. Easy cleaning 
 Cons, non. I love my cup. This cup came with 4, 2 large 2 small.

So I tried the diva cup and the only con I can think of rn is the fact that you have to kinda dig around in your vag to get the cup out 😭 super uncomfortable/painful if you have nails.

I loved the cup when I first used it. It was so simple and so easy for me. I have irregular periods, so I went without having to use any products for months. After that, using the cup seemed a lot more difficult. I don’t know if I was doing it wrong because I had forgotten how to do it properly, or maybe everything was just a little thrown off down there. Personally, I think I have sort of a crooked cervix, but it still works well. 
my pros: doesn’t feel like you’re wearing anything, no waste (love your planet and she will love you! 🌎), longer wear, no mess, way less expensive in the long run, no annoying string hanging down or awkward pad, easy to get the hang of 
cons: made my cervix swell and open (this may be a personal hormonal issue, don’t stress this too much), holds a lot but if you’re extremely heavy it can spill when you’re taking it out
