3 faint positives and now a negative

Hi I took 3 different pregnancy tests about 4 days before my missed period. They all showed a very faint line (different brands as well) and so I decided to wait a few days. Today I got a little bit of spotting so I decided to use one the small cheaper tests I had from my ovulation kit and it’s completely negative. Please help me understand what’s going on.
