Opinions Plz: Implantation or Period?

I’m due for AF today (4/24). Took an early pregnancy test 2 days ago and it was totally negative, so I’ve basically been waiting for my period to start any second now.

Last night I had a light brown type of discharge when I wiped before bed so I fully expected to wake up this morning with AF. This morning I woke up and NOTHING... back to white discharge. A few hours later, a little brown/pink on my swipe again, so i put in a tampon since I had a busy day out and about in anticipation of starting. When I got home and took the tampon out, nothing but a very little amount of brown/pink shmear (see photo).

Were this to happen last week, I might think this is indicative of implantation, but because I’m 2 weeks DPO, and we haven’t baby danced in 2 full weeks, the timeline just doesn’t make sense for implantation NOW. It’s been 14 days...

For reference I’ve always been very regular with 26/27 day cycles, and it makes total sense for me to be getting AF today, but I’ve never had such a slow start. No cramping or anything yet either.

Took another pregnancy test just now and it was negative, but if this IS implantation NOW, it would be negative because HCG isn’t high enough yet.

Thoughts?? Similar experiences?? Thanks in advance ❤️
