Should I try another round of ivf or freeze more eggs ?

Question

My husband and I have been trying for over 2 years to have a baby. We’ve had 2 naturally conceived miscarriages and one round of failed IVF. I only have one frozen embryo left. I for sure want 2 kids possibly more but obviously I’ll take what I can get. 
Do you think I should freeze more eggs before trying my second frozen embryo or should I do the round of IVF In hopes it works and then freeze more eggs after hopefully having our first baby with our last embryo. 
I’m 30 about to be 31 by the way.

I would do another round of IVF to get more embryos! Better to bank more embryos

I personally would do another round now.     If you are looking to breastfeed you may not be able to do another round for 2+ years if this one is successful.  2 years can do a lot to egg quality.

I only had 1 embryo my first round, untested, and for some reason I didn’t even think of doing another retrieval to bank more embryos, and it also wasn’t brought up to me by my RE either! It was a hectic cycle and we were lucky to even have 1 (they didn’t ICSI so we had total failed fertilization and lost almost all eggs) So we proceeded with the FET, prayed and hoped like hell, and it was successful! My little girl is almost 2! I realize we got extremely lucky. But it can happen! I was 30 btw, had her at 31. Did a second retrieval just this past Jan, and ended up with 10 frozen embryos this time. I am now 33, and we just transferred again a few weeks ago. Almost 6 weeks. Fingers crossed we have a successful healthy pregnancy. We also want 2, I would’ve probably wanted more, but my husband is 43 and is content with 2. Which I understand. He’s pretty done with fertility treatments, although he’s been my biggest supporter and rock! We have been at this for years. I’ve started accepting that if we can have 2 healthy children, I’ll be beyond grateful. IVF/transfers and the waiting, and ups and downs, and the unknowns are just.. a lot. I think I’ll be okay with closing that chapter after 2:) Not to mention, babies and toddlers are exhausting 😂🤪 I don’t really have advice.. that’s just what I did. You’re still at a great age that egg quality isn’t really a concern (unless you have DOR). I probably would go with transfer first. Tough call though. Good luck to you!🍀

Do you have any issues with your AMH/ ovarian reserve? If so, then maybe doing a retrieval sooner would be ideal. If not, your age-based decline won’t likely start in earnest until a few years later, so I’d probably give your last embryo a try and go from there.

Your still young!!! Use the embryo! You can always freeze more eggs at 32-33!!

I think it depends on your situation.  If you have low reserve I’d try to get more now but if that’s not an issue then I’d do the FET now and then get more embryos later.
