1st haircut?

My 3 year olds hair is craaaazy. Lol. He looks like a little einstein. I want to cut it and I need tips on how I can keep him distracted long enough for a barber to cut his hair? Any tricks or ideas for me?

If you go to a place that often cuts kids hair, they have strategies. When our son was first getting his hair cut around 11mp, he held two combs and sat on daddy’s lap. Now at almost 3, he sits by himself and our hairdresser talks to him like she talks to anyone. We don’t give him a device or anything else. He’s learning to function without constant stimulation.

We go to a kids haircut place and his first time was around first bday. They’re super fast and understand he’ll be moving and they had tons of distractions. He sits in an airplane and gets to play with the steering wheel of it. They have a tv at each seat with cartoons or kid movies on. They had a toy that bounces around vibrating they put on the floor of the airplane when they needed him to look down to do the back of his neck.

I’ve only done 2 haircuts so far lol. Our first haircut was done at a place that specializes in kids and they were amazing. They gave a toy that spun or lit up or something and everything was totally fine. At the second haircut I let her hold a lovey and she was totally fine.

Give him your phone or an iPad with YouTube kids on. That’s what we do. My son is almost 2 and has had so many haircuts. Technology for the win. 😂
