How long??

So I’m 11 weeks today, and I still can’t find the heartbeat on my home Doppler. How long did it take for you to find the baby’s heartbeat?? I’m 5’9 and 280lbs idk if that has something to do with it.

I found it a few days after 11 weeks. What worked for me was being patient, focusing on small areas and turning the wand all the way around. It used to take about 5 minutes to find it in the beginning. It only got easier by 13 weeks

I never found it on my home Doppler, and he had a clear heartbeat up to 13 weeks. 
They say home Dopplers are not as reliable and not as sensitive as doctors. Adding it that we are plus size, I would put down the Doppler until after 13 weeks. The Doppler I have at home even says wait until 13-14 weeks for reliable results. Those people who are finding it so early at 11 weeks or so are probably very small and the baby is in JUST the right position.

Even 25+ weeks I had a hard time finding my daughters heartbeat on an at homer doppler.

I couldn't find it at home until after 16 weeks. Now that I'm 25 weeks I can fi d it no problem and only check in on her when I don't feel her moving around for a while.

I never used one cuz i was afraid I'd depend on it in an unhealthy way - but I've heard it can be more difficult to find for those with more belly fat and after 12 weeks it gets easier to find the heartbeat (the latter being true for anyone, regardless of belly fat)
