Hello, I’m currently 35 weeks pregnant and all of a sudden I begin developing high blood pressure. I’ve never had this before with my first baby or ever in my life. This is something that just randomly came about with this pregnancy towards the end and it’s upsetting me. My blood pressure fluctuates and some days I have protein in my urine then the next I don’t. My blood pressure readings have been 147/20, 161/112, 139/98 and again this morning 153/109! I feel like the doctors are ignoring this and don’t see it as a big deal but I do! It’s upsetting me because I’m scheduled for a c section at 39 weeks but I feel as though they need to bump it up to 37 weeks at least because this is severe to me. I don’t know what to do, as i keep getting the run around. I call the office and they tell me to go to the hospital. I got to the hospital and they check everything, send me to follow up and now I’m being monitored by the high risk perinatal department and was sent home with a blood pressure monitor. Well obviously, I’m high risk and this is serious so I don’t understand what they are waiting for???? Something bad to happen to me or my baby..?? I’m just so upset and feel like screaming but all that’s going to do is cause my blood pressure to rise more. However I don’t feel like this doctor office cares and I’m not being heard. I talked to the perinatal high risk department earlier and she even said this didn’t make sense and that she’s building a case because my readings, symptoms and everything else is wild. That this fluctuating is called gestational hypertension and needs to be addressed now. I’m not on any medicine either as they have not given me any or ordered for bed rest. I’m just sitting here looking crazy like they don’t care. It’s really ticking me off and I feel like it’s too late to switch doctors or get a second opinion . Is anyone dealing with gestational hypertension or have before? How did your pregnancy go? What happened? When did you deliver?
