Soonest you took a pregnancy test?

Did you take it before your period? Or after? I start in 8 days which I know is far too soon to test, I'm just tired of waiting and trying to distract myself.

I tested 6 days before my period with a First Response Early Response Test and got a faint positive. It was 8dpo for me. Then I double checked the next day and next night
