I’m 7 weeks post partum... We were careful, or so I thought... I had a very easy delivery and I was cleared early too... but yes I did have sex within the healing period. Am I pregnant? I mean ... the line is pink and it came within a minute...

It’s very unlikely to be leftover hcg unless you have retained tissue from birth, which is unlikely if you’ve been feeling well enough to have sex 😬

Why do you mean by “careful?” Breastfeeding and pulling out isn’t being careful and you’re pretty fertile after giving birth.
If it was unprotected sex, you’re most likely pregnant again and you need to been seen by a doctor ASAP! Getting pregnant that soon postpartum can cause serious infections and complications.
If you used condoms or birth control, it may just be leftover hcg.
Either way you need to call your doctor!

Careful like using a condom? If so then you you’re probably good, it’s likely just residual hormones from your recent pregnancy. 
If you mean careful like he pulled out, then yeah it’s totally possible to be pregnant (pulling out is *not* being careful, especially during the first 6 weeks of pelvic rest when your cervix is open and you have a dinner plate sized wound in your uterus from the placenta detaching). 
Either way, I’d test again in a few days/week, and call your ob if you’re still getting a positive.

I guess it’s possible it could be left over HCG but I was told HCG clears from your system within a month.  The best way to tell if it’s a new pregnancy would be to retest in a few days and see if the line gets darker.
