Anyone else not having a third trimester ultrasound ? Or have you been offered a routine third trimester ultrasound.

I had gestational diabetes at the age of 31 with my son. I am 36 and have somehow managed to pass the diabetes test with my second pregnancy. When you have diabetes they check you weekly with ultrasounds and stress tests. I am now being told no ultrasound is needed at all in the third trimester. I was under the  impression there would at least be one routine to check positioning and size - how do they rule out breech baby? By just feeling my tummy ? I don’t know if I am being overly concerned or if it varies by clinic? Anyone else have similar experiences or advise ? Thanks

I have a growth scan Monday at 31 weeks due to being high risk for preeclampsia. If I had a normal, healthy pregnancy I would not get an ultrasound after the 20 week scan.

My pregnancy has been normal and healthy so far so my last ultrasound was 20 weeks. They do use this basic smaller ultrasound that the doctor brings into the room at my 36 week appt to check positioning only so I don’t really count that as another ultrasound.

I’ll have 3 at this rate. My doctor stated it was due to my age...also had gestational diabetes with my first. Baby is measuring way too big so I will be getting serial ultrasounds...

I’m on the same boat , just turned 37 also passed my glucose test and was told I won’t have any more ultrasounds my last was at 18 weeks for the anatomy scan I thought since I’m high risk for advanced maternal age I would get more but I guess not

My last ultrasound with my doctor was at 19+6 for the anatomy scan and I won’t be receiving another one.

I only got 2 ultrasounds. One at my very first doctors appointment and the other for the gender scan. My midwife said I would only get another one if they suspect something is wrong. I’ve had a healthy pregnancy so far so another ultrasound isn’t needed. However, I am going to get a 3D scan done (paid out of pocket) because I’m impatient and want a little sneak peak of what baby will look like! 🥰

My pregnancy has been normal but my doctor said she always does a 32 week growth scan so Im getting that done next week.

It differs by practice I guess! With my first pregnancy, my anatomy scan at 20 weeks was my last ultrasound. With this (my 2nd) pregnancy, we live in a different state and had a standard growth ultrasound at 32 weeks and will have another at 38 weeks to check on position. No complications with either pregnancy.

I had a ultrasound yesterday at 31 weeks due to checking the placement of my placenta because for my anatomy scan I had partial placenta previa, it did resolve, meaning it’s now where it has to be, now I have to come back to get another ultrasound because the baby is breech, if she weren’t breech it would’ve probably been my last ultrasound

I am having an ultrasound at 37 weeks but the reason is because with my last pregnancy I had low amniotic fluid around then. If it weren’t for that I don’t think I would have one.
