Joining the May babies group...send love

ca

Well, my routine 30-week growth scan on Monday did not go as planned. The ultrasound tech immediately noticed baby was too small and then noticed poor flow/resistance in the umbilical cord. The doctor sent me immediately to labor and delivery. His words were "go immediately there, do not go home and someone will bring you what you need." I was monitored at l&d until another ultrasound on Wednesday morning. They started seeing reversed blood flows in the umbilical cord and scheduled my c-section for that evening. Everything went fine from there and baby Margaret Josephine came into this world on May 12 at 30 weeks and 3 days. She's very little due to conditions in the womb but they managed to get me steroid shots and magnesium drip before delivery to help develop lungs and work on brain development. So she is holding her own and really feisty - we're just keeping it positive that all goes well and she'll come home with us in July! The NICU staff is amazing. I'm pumping round the clock to get her some good nutrition to grow outside of the womb since my placenta couldn't do it 😔 Send us good vibes, we are doing our very best.

Good luck to everyone with the rest of your pregnancies and deliveries.
