When do you put the car seat in your car?

Our hospital allows 1 visitor to come and go, so my husband will install it while baby and I are in the hospital. If this is your first baby though, I highly recommend checking with someone licensed in carseat safety to make sure you have your seat/base properly installed. Most fire stations or hospitals have a carseat specialist.

I’m putting the base in this weekend at 38 weeks. But you really shouldn’t put the car seat itself in yet because it’ll have to be replaced if you get in an accident. A base will have to be replaced too but better to just replace that then a whole car seat.

Probably putting it in next week at 36, my first came at 37 weeks so I just don’t want to have to worry about it

We are doing a home birth!! I haven't thought about it too much.. I may stick the base in the car and have it ready I guess in case we need to do a transfer.

This is our third - and will be our third carseat since they are all still tiny - so we’re not installing that third one in until the last minute since we’ll need to put in the third row of our van.

If there's plenty of room I do it around 36 weeks. But now this being my 4th, I'm going to have my husband just go back to the house for it once baby is born bc I want him to go back to see the other 3 kiddos anyways while we're in the hospital.
