Is your baby saying mama dada yet?

My pediatrician reffered my son to speech therapy because he was not yet saying mama and dada @14mon.

I hate these milestone time lines. Every baby is different. My first two baby boys had speech at 18 months for a year each. They were just late talkers. My 15 month old daughter sings twinkle twinkle little star. I hate comparing children. I just came to say the milestone charts piss me off. I’m all for early intervention 100%, it’s amazing, I just used to beat myself up with my first two thinking it was me that they didn’t “have 25 words by 18 months”. 
So my main point is- I’ve been here twice. Don’t be worried mama, your baby will talk, 14 months is early too. Also as another poster said- as long as they are connecting sounds.

Mine is, but not really with intention (I don’t think).  But my doctor isn’t worried even though I keep bringing it up!! 🤷🏼‍♀️💗

It doesn't have to be exactly "mom or dad", does your baby have any sounds they make purposefully? It might not sound like a real word but it could be a sound they make to refer to something. Just as long as they're able to connect a sound to a thing
