Not being called in by job ;/
I took a PRN position at an assisted living facility and was only called in twice this week. I’m feeling upset about not getting many shifts because I got the job in order to work and save up for the summer. I feel like I should’ve taken a full time position rather than PRN.
I thought working PRN would be similar to being part time. I guess it’s not because I’m only needed when they decide to remember I’m still employed there. They’re probably busy with full time employees and aren’t thinking about PRN employees. Well at least not me since I’m a new hire and don’t have seniority over any shifts.
I just thought I’d be working more because the entire time I was training I’d see coworkers who are PRN be there on a consistent basis. It’d seemed like they were full time employees by how much they worked. I hate being new because you hardly get any shifts after training. I’m considering quitting and finding a job that actually needs help with people on shift. Because obviously the one I’m at has more than enough people. However I’m going to call this Monday first to see if I can work more. If not I’ll look for another job.
