Baby’s Last Name

Hi All,

My newborn has my last name. The original plan was to give my baby their father’s last name, however, several months into my pregnancy , my ex became verbally and slightly physically abusive. In addition, he alluded to me getting an abortion during my pregnancy and was never really supportive with any of my pregnancy milestones. With that being said, my child have my last name. My ex wants to hyphenate our child’s last name and I’m not too sure if I’m comfortable with that. I understand it’s his child too, but I think it’s more of a pride thing vs being genuine. I’m not too sure if I am allowing my emotions to get involved with the last name and if I am being fair... what do you think?
